Crochet City Girl Cap (Newsboy Hat)

With the winter of 2014 seemingly lasting forever and a day here in Western New York, a dear co-worker's wife needed a little pick-me-up from the cold weather blahs.  She chose this adorable hat (here) from one of my Pinterest boards and asked me to make it for her.  I'm so glad I did!

This was probably one of my favorite projects of that winter.  My co-worker told me often how much his wife loves her hat.  She wore it everywhere and always got lots of compliments.  As you can see from the photos below, I really liked it as well.

For a crafter, the greatest pleasure is seeing another person enjoy the item you've made them.  Because I liked the one I made for her so much, I ended up making an off-white version for myself.

I found the FREE pattern for this hat here. I modified it just a tad to make it a bit larger and to include triple-ribbed vertical stripes instead of single-ribbed. Otherwise, I followed the pattern and couldn't have been happier with the results.

I also made another version of this hat for a customer as you can see below:

If you would like this hat made for you, just visit my Etsy shop or click on one of the photos above, and I would be happy to oblige!

She also requested the below convertible mittens, which makes the most adorable matching set (that I couldn't resist sharing)!  For the mittens, click on the below picture, which will link you to my Convertible Mittens Etsy listing.

Thanks for visiting my blog!  Have a fabulous day!
