Crochet Snowflake Christmas Tree Skirt & Pattern

Christmas 2013 was a home-spun holiday for our family.  With our home being listed on the real estate market, all our Christmas decorations were placed into storage along with many of our other possessions. Instead of climbing over boxes and furniture in our storage unit to find our boxes of Christmas decorations, our family took the opportunity to have fun with it.

It was the first year since childhood that my husband and I had a real Christmas tree.  We bought some inexpensive sparkly blue bulbs and made the rest of our decorations.  I crocheted a navy blue tree skirt and snowflake ornaments.  Then the kids and I made other snowflake ornaments with hot glue and glitter and strung garland made from pearl and silver beads.  It was a lot of fun, and our tree was by far the prettiest we'd ever had.

If you're a fellow crocheter, who would like this pattern, I have included it below.  This is the very first time I've written out a pattern, so please let me know if there are any questions or any suggested corrections.

For those who are interested in having this tree skirt made for them, please feel free to visit my Etsy shop.

Snowflake Ornaments:

I collect holiday crochet patterns on Pinterest. This is where most of these snowflake patterns can be found.  A few of them are my own design for which I do not have a pattern.  Sorry!  However, I do offer a 5-pack of Crocheted Snowflake Ornaments in my Etsy shop.  Check it out if you're interested.

Just a quick tip for stiffening crocheted items--use inexpensive hairspray!  It works like a charm! There is no creating your own starch concoction, plus the items dry quickly due to the alcohol in the hairspray.  Just be sure to cover your work surface with a sheet of waxed paper before getting started.

Thanks for visiting and checking out my blog!
